Finding your healthiest, happiest weight can be a challenge. So often do I see clients (particularly women) who have been yo-yo dieting (slimming world, weight watchers, ketogenic diets, fasting diets) on and off for years with either no results or temporary results.
The right diet to get you at a healthy, happy and stable weight takes a supportive, nourishing diet that doesn’t feel like a complete chore to adhere to. I work with so many people who are (quite often accidentally) under eating, over training and have hit a sticking point. Energy is low, mood is low, “what used to work isn’t working anymore!” is the attitude, and time and time again people are pushing harder, eating lower calories, eating lower carbs, doing more exercise – which can have completely the opposite effect on weight loss at times. I like to focus on the quality of your diet, it is also important to get the right balance of macro nutrients and the right amount of calories for your unique needs. Whilst losing weight and dropping body fat are all good reasons for considering your nutrition, I am a big fan of the Health at Every Size movement which supports healthy body attitudes, and is about finding an inner peace with your body so that you can work with it, nourish it and not try to force it into an ‘instragram style bikini body’ to the detriment of your health (and sanity)!
